Today’s Project Psalm: I Want What I Want and I Want it Now!

Psalm 13 Prayer for Help: How many times have you said a prayer over and over, wondering how many more times you will have to pray it before it is answered?  How many times have you held an intention so close to your heart, offered it up to God, but worried over it still?  How many times have you wondered if God hears you?

Psalm 13:2

How long, Lord?  Will you utterly
forget me?
How long will you hide your face
from me?

Immediate gratification.  We want what we want and we want it now!  When we do not get what we want, we may have a moment, a not so good moment.  Think of your children.  How many times have they asked for something they wanted and thought they absolutely had to have it?   You said, “No,” not because you were being mean..but because you knew what was best.  You may have waited because you knew the time was not right.  You have your child’s best interest at heart.

God is the same with us.  Oftentimes we pray for something and when it does not work out the way we think it should or when we think it should, we become impatient.  Some may even lost their faith.  If your faith is so easily lost, you barely had any to begin with.  God is not for us to command.  Or Father in Heaven knows what is best for us.  Apparently He loves us.  He sent his Son down to suffer and die for us.  If God would do that, then how can we doubt that he knows what is best?  In His time, by His will; it will come to pass.  Have Faith.  Do not be disheartened.  That special prayer that you keep so close to your heart, add another piece to it.  Lord, may it be done in accordance with your will, and may you grant me the Grace to accept your will.
