Project Psalm~Psalms 42 ~Home

Psalm 42:2-3

As the deer longs for streams of water,
so my soul longs for you, O God.

My soul thirsts for God, the living God.
When can I enter and see the face of God?

There’s no place like home, there’s no place like home.  If only I could click my heels and go home.  Home? Where is home?

Home is heaven, with my Father…our Father.  There is so much pain and suffering in this world that sometimes my soul grows weary and I think of the light of God’s face. I think of home.

This life is but a journey that leads home.  It is not easy.  The road is not always straight or clear.  There are stones, detours, and the devil. Darkness all around, threatens to overwhelm us.  We persevere on.  Our Father is waiting at home to receive us.  Our soul is refreshed with the life giving water of His word.  The blisters on our feet are soothed with the balm of His forgiveness.  Our hunger is sated with the bread of life.  We trudge through, soldier on, and cloak ourselves in the mantle of His love to keep us warm.

With these tools we move forward…to our destination…to God.
