~Project Psalm~48~Lead Me to Zion

Ps 48:9

What we had heard we have now seen
in the city of the Lord of hosts,
In the city of our God,
which God establishes forever.

Psalm 48 was originally written as hymn for the City of Zion.  The importance of Zion transcends Christianity and is considered sacred in Judaism as well as Islam and Arabic traditions. It has great historic and religious significance and has become a metaphor for God’s Heavenly City.

Unlike it’s earthly counterpart, Heavenly Zion is eternal and cannot be destroyed or its location disputed.  Its gates were closed to us until the sacrifice of our Lord.   Now that they are opened,It is  up to us to journey through this life to eternal salvation.  Our pilgrimage is fraught with many distractions, but we must not let it deter us from our destination.  God’s Word is our road map and the Saints are our guides.

Pray for me, that I may go to Zion. I will pray to meet you there as well.
